OCcupational Therapy

A person’s ability to operate functionally in any particular aspect of their lives can sometimes be negatively affected as a result of injury, illness or disability.  It is the job of the Occupational Therapist to identify the functions which are most problematic to each patient, and devise an individualized treatment programme for that person.

Our Occupational Therapy team is made up of Stephanie LLanos and Sigrid Minguell. They treat patients of all age ranges and from all walks of life.  Their collective goal is focused on regaining maximum functionality for every one of their patients, in an effort to return them safely to a full range of activities with success and independence.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Promoting Independence:
The goal is to help individuals become more independent and live fulfilling lives by maximizing their functional abilities.
  • Individualized Treatment:
Occupational therapy involves personalized treatment plans that consider an individual's specific needs, goals, and environment.
  • Various Approaches:
Treatment may involve a variety of approaches, such as:
    • Assessment: Evaluating a person's strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
    • Interventions: Providing specific strategies and techniques to improve skills.
    • Adaptive Equipment: Recommending and training on the use of assistive devices.
    • Home Modifications: Making changes to a person's home environment to make it safer and more accessible.
    • Caregiver Training: Providing education and support to family members and caregivers.
  • Diverse Applications:
Occupational therapy is used in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and home care.
  • Benefits:
Occupational therapy can lead to improved physical and mental health, increased independence, and a greater sense of well-being.
  • Focus on Daily Activities:
